I can’t get over the winter blasts that are hitting our country this year! Although I haven’t experienced it … I’m up in the Great Northwest in Washington… We are actually experiencing record low snow levels and warming. In mid February my day lilies were shooting up out of the ground and about 2 weeks later the trees are beginning to bud! As I’m outside doing early gardening and pulling my mower out months before I usually do… I come inside to watch the news report on record snow falls over on the East Coast, major accidents on the freeways, power outages and extra snow days for the kids! I can’t help but think of all of you stuck inside… probably going a little stir crazy by now… I mean enough is enough right?! You don’t live in Antarctica for heavens sake!
I thought I’d put together a little post of some good old homemade comfort foods to keep you warm in this crazy winter weather you are having! Hope you enjoy some of my favorite recipes…
One of my favorite recipes 20 Minute Homemade Biscuits comes in handy a lot in my kitchen… Not only are they great on their own… But we love them slathered in Country Sausage Gravy! I usually start browning my sausage first and work my way over to putting the biscuits together… They end up being done right around the same time!!!
Need I say more?? I think the name says enough! 🙂
If you work all day away from home this recipe is great to throw together in the morning… Turn it on and finish it up when you get home!
My kids absolutely love this recipe… My boys are always asking me to make this!
Speaking of Kids… Let’s not forget about them!
I love making this one up for their birthday party’s … It feeds a lot for low cost!
And I don’t think comfort food wouldn’t be complete with out chocolate… These are completely homemade and worth the effort!
I hope you all enjoy these recipes as much as my family does… Try to stay warm and safe! Spring is around the corner!
